HARARE-Human rights and democracy activist Dr. Abigale Mupambi has blasted exiled former minister Saviour Kasukuwere for calling for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ouster.
Responding to a viral tweet by the former ZANU PF political commissar which simply stated, “ED Must Go. Simple,” Mupambi fired back in a strongly worded post.
“Kuendepi manje? As things stand, iwewe you are OUT and Gone! Meanwhile, you want ED to GO?
If it’s SIMPLE as you put it, come and replace him — then maybe he can possibly go! Isusu taakungogara naye isu,” she posted.
When contacted for further comment, Dr. Mupambi had no kind words for Kasukuwere.
“He is a coward. Why can’t he come to Zimbabwe and do exactly what he is calling for? You can’t fool people into rising up against a democratically elected president while holed up in the affluent suburbs of South Africa,” said Mupambi.
Kasukuwere has recently ramped up his rhetoric calling for the removal of President Mnangagwa. He has also been accused of sponsoring Retired Brigadier General Blessed Geza, who has publicly criticised the ZANU PF leader.
In 2023, the former CIO operative announced his intention to contest in the general election, but his nomination was later nullified following a court challenge.
