Zororo Phumulani, Doves extend helping hand to bereaved families of bus disaster victims

Funeral service providers Zororo Phumulani a subsidiary of Doves Funeral Services have extended a compassionate gesture by providing meals to 60 grieving family members of victims from the tragic bus accident that claimed 42 lives last week,Express Mail Zim can report.

The initiative saw both firms organising and serving hot meals to bereaved relatives gathered for funeral arrangements and memorial services.

Speaking during the handover, a Zororo Phumulani representative said the gesture was part of their corporate social responsibility and a way of standing with affected families during their darkest moment.

“As a company built on compassion and community, we felt it was important to not only provide funeral assistance but also comfort the families in a tangible way. Sharing a meal is symbolic of unity and support,” the representative said.

Doves Funeral Services also echoed the sentiment and said that the tragedy called for collective empathy and practical action.

“This is a time for Zimbabweans to come together. Beyond our business role, we are also part of the communities that are grieving. Our contribution is a small but heartfelt way to show solidarity,” said a Doves official.

The joint feeding programme catered for approximately 60 family members at the temporary bereavement centre where relatives had gathered to coordinate funeral logistics and repatriation of the deceased.

Government officials and community leaders commended the gesture and described it as an example of corporate compassion in the face of national tragedy.

The recent bus accident, one of the deadliest in recent years, has prompted renewed calls for stricter road safety measures and enhanced passenger transport regulations.
