Youth leader Hon Maponga drives women empowerment in Vungu

Vungu – In a powerful demonstration of her unwavering commitment to the advancement of women and the girl child, Honourable Vivian Vimbai Maponga, President of Youth in Politics and Governance, recently made a significant donation of dinner plates in Vungu in Gweru district .

This gesture, though seemingly modest, served as a strategic opening for deeper engagement with young rural women, aiming to mobilize resources for their mentorship and project development.

She also deals with young women and youths both male and female.

It is in that light that Hon Maponga donated soccer balls and kits to keep youths occupied and shy away from drugs and substance abuse.

“We are pushing to combat drug and substance abuse countrywide not only in Midlands.That is why we are focusing on young women and youths empowerment,” said Hon Maponga.

Hon Maponga has consistently championed the cause of full economic integration and empowerment for women across all sectors.

Her advocacy is rooted in a belief in the transformative power of women’s upliftment, a vision she articulates with passion and conviction.

“The strength of a nation is truly reflected in the well-being of its women and girls,” stated Hon Maponga during the event.

“When we invest in their potential, when we open doors for their dreams, we are not just empowering individuals; we are building the very foundation of resilient homes, thriving communities and a prosperous future for all.

” Indeed, when you empower a woman, you build a home, brick by brick just like President Mnangagwa always said nyika inovakwa nevene vayo.”

Her organization’s mandate aligns perfectly with this philosophy, recognizing that even small acts can ignite significant change. The donation in Vungu is part of a wider initiative to foster dialogue and identify avenues for support, ensuring that young women in rural areas have the tools and guidance to embark on their own entrepreneurial and leadership journeys.
