CHURU CONSTITUENCY – The Tonganyika Trust has initiated a free skills development program in Churu Constituency, an effort that has garnered commendation from local leadership for its potential to uplift community members and address socio-economic challenges.

The program’s launch was facilitated by Hon Ephraim Fundukwa and it seeks to deliver accessible educational and vocational training to residents across all age demographics within the constituency.

During the program’s official launch on Easter Monday Saul Murangwa, National Coordinator for the Tonganyika Trust, emphasized the initiative’s commitment to inclusivity.

He said:

“We are offering courses for everyone, regardless of age, leaving no one behind as we move forward with Vision 2030. We have basic life skills programmes that we are offering across all provinces for free so that every person can acquire skills to help prevent poverty in the country.”

Jonas Mberikunashe, the Harare City Council Southern District Officer, extended his appreciation to the Tonganyika Trust for its community-focused approach.

“I would like to thank Hon. Ephraim Fundukwa and the Tonganyika Trust for launching such a programme for our people in Churu Constituency. All the courses align well with the vision of attaining a smart Harare by 2030, in line with the Government’s mantra of leaving no place and no one behind,” Mberikunashe remarked.

Cde Trust Rutsvara, the Ward 6 Coordinator articulated the anticipated benefits of the Tonganyika Trust initiative, particularly its role in enhancing living standards and combating social ills.

Rutsvara commented:

“This programme is aimed at improving the living standards of people in our constituency. It will also help in the fight against drug and substance abuse. People will now focus more on learning rather than engaging in drugs. We thank our Hon. MP Fundukwa for bringing such an initiative to our constituency.”
