HARARE – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has with immediate effect re-assigned five Permanent Secretaries across key Government ministries, with the changes taking effect on May 1 2026.
In a statement released Thursday, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya said the move is in terms of Section 205(1) of the Constitution.
The re-assignments are as follows:
Mr. Simon Masanga – Permanent Secretary, Environment, Climate and Wildlife
Dr Thomas Utete Wushe – Permanent Secretary, Mines and Mining Development
Ambassador. Tadeous T Chifamba – Permanent Secretary, Industry and Commerce
Mr. Pfungwa Kunaka – Permanent Secretary, Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare
Prof Obert Jiri – Permanent Secretary, Agriculture, Mechanisation and Water Resources Development
No reasons were given for the changes.
The reshuffle affects the administrative heads of key economic and service delivery portfolios.
