Zimbabwe’s mining sector presents a broad array of investment opportunities for global investors, driven by its abundant mineral resources, an evolving regulatory framework, and increasing government initiatives aimed at attracting foreign capital.
“These opportunities span the entire mining sector value chain and focus on key strategic areas,” said Honourable Chitando.
He said government has put place a space for global investors under exploration.
“Opportunities in mineral exploration and development are available in both brownfield and greenfield exploration.
“The country remains under-explored, offering significant potential for new discoveries, especially through the use of modern exploration techniques.
“Investors can engage by venturing into exploration as private companies or through partnerships with Government entities such as the Mining Promotion Corporation (MPC),” said Honourable Chitando.
He added that MPC currently has a number of exploration project proposals open for consideration by potential investors.
“In the area of Mining and Extraction, opportunities are primarily related to the opening of new mines, the resuscitation of closed mines, and forming joint ventures with mines that are currently operating below their full capacity.
The Ministry has since made
opportunities to exist across linkages with the entire economy.
These include local beneficiation and value addition of minerals, as well as the provision of critical support services.
These services encompass the supplies of mining equipment and consumables, financial services, management, and consultancy.
Honourable Chitando said significant opportunities exist in Mineral Beneficiation and Value Addition.
“The country has huge mineral resource endowments, which are intended to support the development of local value chains.
Therefore, investment opportunities are strongly encouraged in the development of these value chains.”
