Harare- Mayors and Councillors of the CCC opposition party who have no clear President and structures must resign and allow for by elections so that the country witnesses order in local government, Hebert Chamuka an opposition leader has said.

Chamuka who leads the People’s Unity Party (PUP) says there is no point in having councillors from the opposition CCC whose leader Nelson Chamisa long retired saying this causes confusion in governance.

Speaking at a press conference this week, the ambitious Chamuka said Harare and Bulawayo Mayors must lead the way by resigning as their failure to have a clear leader has led to problems in what agenda they are leading.

“CCC councillors and their Mayors must be removed so that we have leaders with a clear President. CCC is leaderless we don’t know what their agenda is. I urge Mafume and Coltart to step down. We want by elections in those areas,’’ said Chamuka.

Chamuka attacked Chamisa whom he said received money from the ruling party and therefore lacked direction

“Chamisa dumped the people. Let us unite against ZANU PF and have one common enemy. CCC is directionless, come to my party and I lead the way,” he said.

CCC has faced challenges following the recalls instituted by self proclaimed Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu leading to Chamisa resigning.
