Harare-Chief Executive of the Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (ARDA) has continued on his winning streak and has been recently named the Overall Best Performer among CEOs of Commercial State-Owned Enterprises under the President’s Award for Performance Excellence.
This marks his third consecutive win, solidifying his position as a top performing leader in Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector.
Mhiko’s exceptional leadership has been recognized not only locally but also continentally.
In 2024, he received the prestigious Africa Food Prize, a $100,000 award acknowledging his groundbreaking work in advancing food security through strategic irrigation initiatives.
His innovative approaches have transformed Zimbabwe’s food systems, overcoming challenges like droughts and land degradation.
Under his vision, ARDA has expanded irrigation from 6,000 hectares in 2016 to a projected 15,000 hectares by 2025 making it a model of sustainability in African agriculture.
Mhiko’s achievements have earned him numerous accolades, including CEO of the Year at the CEO Africa Roundtable awards in 2023. His leadership has positioned ARDA as a benchmark for agricultural transformation, fostering collaboration and innovation with government bodies, private sector players and international organizations.
