Harare – A slick syndicate targeting unsuspecting business moguls has been exposed for name-dropping flamboyant Zanu PF legislator Scott Sakupwanya in their crooked scheme, Express Mail Zim can reveal.
The yet to be identified syndicate operates with South African numbers +27817448748 and +27780106458 has been circulating WhatsApp messages to top regional businessmen while posing as Hon Sakupwanya.
The con artist dangles fake “mining investment opportunities” in a desperate bid to swindle cash from targets.
Sakupwanya owns Better Brands a legitimate congrolomate that has interests in mining , borehole drilling ,security , petroleum and sport.
This is not the first time the country’s high-flyers have fallen victim to these scammers.
Business heavyweights like Philip Chiyangwa, Wicknell Chivayo, and the late Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure have all previously had their names hijacked by shadowy scam syndicates.
Authorities have since urged the public to treat any suspicious money requests with caution and report such cases immediately.
